Parent-Child Module Settings

The Parent-Child module must be initially set-up and configured by X-CD Staff.

How to Edit Parent-Child settings

  1. Click Dashboard
  2. Click Speaker module of the parent-child submission site
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Parent/Child in horizontal menu
  5. Parent Submission Type = system label used for the Primary Submission type
  6. Child Submission Type = system label used for the Secondary Submission type
  7. Child Submission Author Name = system label used for the Secondary Submission 'Author'
  8. Allow Child Author to Edit their Submission = enable (Yes) or disables (No) edit submission for the author linked to the child submission
  9. Allow Child Author to Add/Edit Authors on their Submission = enable (Yes) or disables (No) adding co-authors to child submissions
  10. Helper Text = appears on the screen where child submissions are added
  11. Min Number of Child Submissions = the minimum number of child submissions that must be added to the parent submission. If the user attempts to add less than the minimum, an on-screen error message will appear indicating the minimum number of submissions that must be added.
  12. Max Number of Child Submissions = the limit on how many child submissions can be added to a parent submission
  13. Child Submission Email Subject = subject of email message sent to Author of Child submission
  14. Child Submission Email = email message body content sent to Author of Child submission
  15. Click Update button to save settings

How to disable emails sent to Child submissions

  1. Click Dashboard
  2. Click Speaker module of the parent-child submission site
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Parent/Child in horizontal menu
  6. Child Submission Email Subject = remove all text
  7. Child Submission Email = remove all text
  8. Click Update button to save settings
By removing the subject text and email body text and leaving those blank will prevent an email from sending to authors of child submissions.

How to edit the Maximum number of child submissions allowed?

  1. Click Dashboard
  2. Click Speaker module of the parent-child submission site
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Parent/Child in horizontal menu
  5. Edit Max Number of Child Submissions = select from the dropdown list a new value
    1. NOTE: If you require more than what is available in the dropdown list, submit a support ticket.
  6. Click Update button to save settings
