The X-CD Parent-Child module allows a primary submission to be created in the system with multiple secondary presentations tied to the primary submission. A Parent-Child submission module is unique and has specialized configuration and functionality.

An example of a type of submission that would use the Parent-Child submission is a Panel Session that contains 3 presentations. The Panel Session would be submitted as the 'parent' and the 3 presentations would be submitted at the same time as the 'parent' session as 'children' submissions. The 3 'child' presentations would be specifically linked to the 'parent' submission.

At the time of submissions, specific fields can be defined for the Parent submission and there can be specific fields that are defined for only the Child submissions. When a child submission is added, the submitter defines the child submission title and the presenter. The X-CD system can send the child presenter an email on submission and the system can be enabled to allow the child presenter to edit their own presentations in the system. The child presenter will not be able to edit the parent submission.

Reviewers would be assigned the 'parent' submission to review and will be able to see all of the linked children.

When a parent submission is scheduled in the program, the children submissions are automatically scheduled.
