Technical Recommendations For Using the Virtual Platform

  1. A stable, high speed, Internet connection
  2. Check that your browser is up-to-date. Using the latest version of Google Chrome is recommended.
    1. To check the version of your browser, click the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner of your browser screen, then select Help, About Chrome.
    2. If you are not using the most recent version, update your browser and use the login link again.
  3. Cookie and Pop-Up blocking measures may lead to unexpected behavior
  4. Recommended participation via PC/Mac Computers
Important: The Video Chat feature does not have the ability to add a background image like in Zoom. Please ensure that your background is professionally appropriate and something you do not mind others seeing.

Prevent Playback Issues

  • If you are using a VPN connection, please disable it and try again.
  • If you are still unsuccessful, it is likely a firewall issue.
    • This will require your IT support to resolve the issue or try connecting from a different network.
    • Be sure they allow MP4 file types through the firewall.
    • Check your login link for the domain source. It will look something like is: https://xxxx.econference.io/
  • If you are behind a corporate firewall, share the following list of domains with your IT department. They should be opened so that you are able to view the lecture videos on your institution's network.

Accessing Networking Lounges

  • Please make sure access to these ports are available/open for the Video Chat feature in the Social Lounges and Exhibitor Booths:

    • 4443/tcp

    • 10000-20000/udp

  • Share the list of ports with your IT department.
