Initiating MFA

Initiating MFA

To provide further security measures, we are implementing a multi-factor authentication (MFA) process when Administrators are logging in to their X-CD Admin dashboard.

What does this mean?

To access your X-CD admin site, you will need to use the admin url for your site (https://www.xcdsystem.com/yoursite/admin). You will not be able to access the admin menu option from your profile home page.

Enabling MFA

  1. Login to the Admin Dashboard
  2. Click Other Tools
  3. Click Multi Factor Authentication

  4. On the next screen, click the 'Click Here to Initialize Multi Factor Authentication' button

  5. Once you initiate MFA, you will see a screen with a list of your site administrators. You will be able to manage your administrator’s MFA access from this screen.
  6. Once MFA is implemented, each administrator will be required to setup their MFA access when they next login to the administrative site.

IMPORTANT: Administrators must login directly using the URL to their Admin site (e.g. https://www.xcdsystem.com/yoursite/admin). Administrators will not be able to access the admin site from the front-end (i.e. Admin menu from the profile home page).

Administrators Initial Login Process

  1. Upon logging in to your admin site using your admin url (e.g. https://www.xcdsystem.com/yoursite/admin), administrators will login with their email and password. Administrators will then be presented with the below screen where they will indicate how they wish to validate their login.

  2. Administrators must choose to validate their access by either: Enter a cell phone number; Email; or Authentication APP.
    1. If the Administrator chooses Cell phone or Email, after clicking next you will be taken to a screen which requires a code to login.
      1. In either case, you will receive either a text to your phone with a code or an email with a code.
      2. Enter the provide code into the screen to gain access to the Admin Dashboard.
    2. If the Administrator chooses an Authentication APP, you will be directed to the below screen where you will be required to to download an Authentication APP (Duo or Authy) then setup the site within the APP.

  3. Once you have setup your individual MFA, you may manage your preferences from the Admin site by going to your profile in the Admin site.
