Batch Duplicate Contact Merge

Duplicate contacts do occur when a user create multiple accounts using different emails, as the system recognizes a user via their email. 

If your system has many duplicates, there is a batch merge function.

STEPS:
  1. From the dashboard, select the Contacts Module in the left menu
  2. In the left menu, select Batch Contact Merge
  3. Download the template
     
  4. To find a list of duplicate emails, go to Email/Download and select the Duplicate Contact Search (ref#8 under Contacts) and run the report
  5. Return to the template. Put the email that is to be kept in column A and email that is to be merged in Column B.
    NOTE: If there are multiple duplicate emails for the same user, duplicate the row for each email to be merged. In column A repeat the contact email to keep and column B would be the email to merge

  6. Select file to upload
  7. Select Upload and Run Update
  8. The process will take a bit of time depending on the number of contacts you are merging. The window may be closed. An email will be sent to the admin who performed the task when it is complete.
